Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and
academic ethics on the critical thinking skills of Generation Z Islamic Economics
students. The method used was a quantitative descriptive approach with a purposive
sampling technique, involving 100 students from a population of 239. Data collection
was conducted through questionnaires and observations, while data analysis used
multiple linear regression with t-tests, F-tests, and coefficients of determination (R²).
The results showed that the use of AI and academic ethics, both partially and
simultaneously, had a positive and significant effect on students' critical thinking skills.
Academic ethics had a stronger influence than AI use. Simultaneously, both variables
contributed 77% to critical thinking skills. These findings indicate that AI serves as a
learning aid, while academic ethics serves as the primary foundation for maintaining
the quality of critical thinking. Therefore, integrating the use of AI along with academic
ethics and Islamic values is key to developing students' critical thinking skills in the
digital era.
