This study aims to explore the transformation of translation practices among PBA students through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), such as Google Translate, ChatGPT, Google Lens, DeepL, and Microsoft Translator. The respondents in this study were 24 seventh-semester PBA students at State Islamic University of Ponorogo. Data were collecting using a questionnaire consisting of 12 questions, including six multiple-response items and six Likert-scale items. The data analysis employed descriptive statistics for Likert-scale questions and percentage frequency analysis for multiple-response questions. The results indicate a significant shift form manual translation to AI-assisted translation. ChatGPT emerged as the most frequently used tool among PBA students for completing their assignments, while DeepL was preferred for its ability to translate long contexts, ase of use, and fast translation output. The majority of students utilized AI to translate academic texts, motivated by ease of use, speed, and recommendations from lecturers op peers. Although AI facilitates and accelerates translation, students remain aware of its limitations and continue to review translations to ensure quality. The use of AI has transformed PBA students’ translation practices at Islamic State University of Ponorogo by enhancing efficiency while maintaining the critical role of humans in evaluating translation outcomes. This study recommends integrating AI a supportive tool in translation activities to improve both technological literacy and language competence
Najmaya Ayu Mustika Copyright (c) 2025 Najmaya Ayu Mustika https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.iaisyaichona.ac.id/index.php/qismul_arab/article/view/314 Mon, 29 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Tatwir Tatbiq Mufradat al-Lugah al-‘Arabiyyah al-Qa’im ‘ala Kanfa lil-Mubtadi’in: Dirasah Tatwir Tatbiq Lugati https://journal.iaisyaichona.ac.id/index.php/qismul_arab/article/view/315
This study aims to develop the Canva-based Lughotii application as an interactive digital medium for Arabic vocabulary learning for beginners using the Research and Development (R&D) model of Borg and Gall at stages 1–5. The development process includes needs analysis, planning, product design, expert validation, and product revision. The results of validation showed that the application achieved a feasibility score of 85% from the material expert and 93% from the media expert, with an average feasibility score of 89%, categorized as “very good.” These findings indicate that Lughotii meets pedagogical, linguistic, and visual standards and provides systematically organized vocabulary materials accompanied by audio pronunciation features, contextual images, and interactive exercises that support the improvement of beginners’ vocabulary mastery. In addition, the application offers flexible accessibility and aligns with the learning characteristics of the digital generation. Based on these results, the Lughotii application is recommended as an alternative digital medium for teachers and educational institutions in teaching Arabic vocabulary at the beginner level. Further development is suggested to expand vocabulary levels to intermediate and advanced stages, enhance automated assessment features, and enrich multimedia elements. Future research may involve field testing to measure the effectiveness of the application in improving learners’ vocabulary mastery in real learning contexts
Mochammad Fachturrahman Spama Putra, Riza Nurlaila Copyright (c) 2025 Mochammad Fachturrahman Spama Putra, Riza Nurlaila https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.iaisyaichona.ac.id/index.php/qismul_arab/article/view/315 Sat, 29 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Implementasi Metode Audiolingual dalam Pembelajaran Maharah Kalam https://journal.iaisyaichona.ac.id/index.php/qismul_arab/article/view/253
When learning Arabic, students are required to have one of the basic skills for continuous learning in the classroom, namely Mah?rah kal?m. The primary focus of the study is the implementation of a contextual approach in vocabulary instruction and its impact on students’ comprehension and mastery of the Arabic language. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a field study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the use of real-life contexts in the learning process such as everyday situations, religious activities, and social interactions significantly assists students in understanding vocabulary meanings and enhances their Arabic language skills. This approach also encourages active student engagement in learning and enables learners to relate the acquired vocabulary to their concrete experiences. These findings are supported by the theory of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the theory of Second Language Acquisition (SLA), both of which emphasize the importance of meaningful input and active learner involvement in language learning. Therefore, this study recommends the application of a contextual approach as an effective strategy for teaching Arabic vocabulary, particularly in non-formal educational settings such as learning centers.
M. The significance of this research lies in the growing need to integrate classical Islamic texts into Arabic language teaching for non-native speakers as effective linguistic and pedagogical resources. The study employed a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative and qualitative analyses. The sample consisted of 60 students from an Islamic religious school in Kedah, Malaysia, divided into an experimental group and a control group. Pre-test and post-test instruments were administered to measure listening comprehension and vocabulary mastery. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group, with listening scores increasing from 45% to 75% and vocabulary scores from 50% to 80%. One-way ANOVA analysis confirmed statistically significant differences at the level of p < 0.001 in favor of the experimental group. Qualitative data further indicated enhanced learner motivation and deeper ethical understanding of the learning content. The study concludes that classical heritage texts, when delivered through interactive instructional approaches, can effectively enhance Arabic language skills while simultaneously reinforcing Islamic values. It recommends integrating heritage texts into Arabic language curricula and encourages future research on their impact on other language skills.
Segaf Baharun, Nur hanifansyah Copyright (c) 2025 Segaf Baharun, Nur hanifansyah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.iaisyaichona.ac.id/index.php/qismul_arab/article/view/130 Fri, 28 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Pemanfaatan Natural Language Processing (NLP) untuk Analisis Kesalahan Tata Bahasa Arab Nahwu dan Sharaf pada Skripsi Mahasiswa https://journal.iaisyaichona.ac.id/index.php/qismul_arab/article/view/318
This study explores the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) to analyze Arabic grammar errors (Nahwu and Sharaf) in undergraduate theses at STAI Syaichona Moh. Cholil Bangkalan. Employing a qualitative approach, the research identifies errors using NLP algorithms such as MADAMIRA and Farasa. Findings reveal a high frequency of fundamental errors in i'rab, subject-predicate agreement, and morphological word changes (fi'il). The application of NLP proved to be more efficient, consistent, and objective than time-consuming manual evaluations. While effective, the technology still faces limitations in processing highly complex sentence contexts. This research recommends integrating NLP tools into the curriculum to improve students' academic writing quality.
Humaidi Humaidi Copyright (c) 2025 Humaidi Humaidi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.iaisyaichona.ac.id/index.php/qismul_arab/article/view/318 Fri, 28 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0000
