Abstract

Sharia financial literacy plays a crucial role in strengthening the economy through several important mechanisms. One of these is improving financial understanding and management based on Sharia principles, which can reduce unwanted financial risks and increase economic stability. Good financial management can be assessed by how a person manages their budget, saves money, controls expenses, and invests when possible. The purpose of this study is to describe financial literacy from a sharia economic perspective, to describe financial management from a sharia economic perspective, and to analyze the effect of financial literacy on financial management from a sharia economic perspective among female students at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School in Langkap Village, Burneh District, Bangkalan Regency. The research method used was quantitative research with a sample of 60. Data collection techniques used were observation and questionnaires. Data analysis used descriptive analysis, simple linear regression tests, determination tests, and hypothesis testing. The results of this study, examining the influence of financial literacy on Islamic boarding school financial management from a sharia economic perspective, revealed that the financial literacy variable (X) had a calculated t-value of 6.552 > the t-table value of 1.67065, and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. This indicates that financial literacy (X) has an effect on financial management (Y). Based on the results of the square coefficient of determination (R-square) calculation, it was found to be 0.652. Therefore, it can be concluded that financial literacy (X) influences financial management (Y) among female students at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School in Langkap Village, Burneh District, Bangkalan Regency. This study revealed that female students with good financial literacy are influenced by various factors, including financial knowledge, including general personal finance knowledge, where female students understand how to plan income and expenses to maintain balance. When an individual has extensive knowledge about financial matters, this knowledge becomes a factor in good financial management. This is influenced by other factors such as a hedonistic lifestyle, income, and financial attitudes.
