Ta'tsīr Istikhdām Istirātījiyyah Tadrīs Bayna al-Aqrān (Peer Teaching) fī Iktisāb Mufradāt al-Lughah al-'Arabiyyah ladā ath-Thullāb fī al-Madrasah al-Mutawassithah al-Islāmiyyah Kātā Hātī Bāsū

Abstrak

This study aimed to determine the effect of using the Peer Teaching Strategy on the acquisition of Arabic vocabulary among eighth-grade students at Kata Hati Baso Islamic Junior High School, as well as to measure the magnitude of its effect. This research employed a quantitative experimental approach using a quasi-experimental design, namely the Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class with 17 students and a control class with 21 students. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests and were analyzed using SPSS version 20, the independent samples t-test, and Cohen’s d effect size formula. The findings revealed that the mean post-test score of the experimental class was 82.764, whereas the mean score of the control class was 73.714. The hypothesis testing results showed that the significance values (Sig. 2-tailed) were 0.023 and 0.022, both of which were lower than 0.05. This indicates a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control classes. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis was accepted, and the null hypothesis was rejected. Furthermore, the effect size calculated using Cohen’s d was 0.77, indicating a moderate effect tending toward a large effect.
