Lanskap Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di Indonesia: Dinamika Kebijakan, Transformasi Ekosistem, dan Reframing Tantangan Global

Abstract

This study analyzes the existence of Arabic language learning in Indonesia by examining its challenges and opportunities amidst educational change and technological development. Employing a qualitative approach with library research methods, data were sourced from relevant academic literature and analyzed using content and thematic analysis. The findings reveal that Arabic learning possesses a strong existence, supported by historical, religious, cultural, and academic foundations. However, it faces significant challenges, including linguistic complexity, low learner motivation, limited language environments, a dominance of rule-based instruction, and the need for enhanced educator competence and digital literacy. Conversely, the proliferation of digital technology, artificial intelligence, authentic learning resources, globalization, and an increasing professional demand for Arabic proficiency provide substantial opportunities for pedagogical transformation. Therefore, strengthening the existence of Arabic necessitates a paradigm shift toward communicative, contextual, adaptive, technology-based learning that is oriented toward the needs of students and the professional world. The future existence of Arabic will depend not only on its presence in the curriculum but on its capacity to remain relevant, utilized, and dynamically developed within a changing era.
